The Chicagoans’ guide to French restaurants

French restaurants are right at home in Chicago.

Chicago’s French restaurants are justly famous (although some are disappointed to learn that “Chez Quis,” the restaurant in the film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, is fictitious). Many people think that eating French haute cuisine is a complicated and stuffy experience that can intimidate even the most seasoned restaurant-goers. But in fact, French people often prefer a more relaxed environment with casual yet delicious fare such as crepes, sandwiches, quiche, salads and pastries…all of which you can order at Maison Parisienne! We offer an atmosphere of a typical Paris café, without the stiff formality, complex etiquette, or high prices of a typical French restaurant.

Feel Paris in Maison Parisienne!

What’s the difference? Well, at Maison Parisienne you don’t need a reservation, or to worry about which fork to use. Generally, though, dining in French restaurants and cafés is not about eating in a hurry and leaving right away when you’re finished. Maison Parisienne invites you to slow down and savor the company, the conversation, and the premium coffee. All three go perfectly with pain aux chocolat, a slice of savory quiche, or any of our other breakfast and lunch menu items. Or bring a good book and enjoy some quiet time alone with a pastry or two (or three, or four…).

Maison Parisienne will join the ranks of Chicago’s French restaurants in October 2016, which is plenty of time for you to check out our menu online and start deciding what you will order first. We look forward to bringing the heart and soul of typical French dining to the Windy City.
